Participants will understand leadership class expectations and build trust through team building activities. Students will continue to build unity through sharing their personal and family histories and culture.

Students will become familiar with decision making structures in their school and groups that influence those decisions at their school.

Students will understand the basics of grant proposal writing.

Students will become familiar with outreach strategies and practice.

Participants will define the qualities of a leader, learn about the importance and power in building a strong team/collective force.  Also, students will learnhow to develop a mission statement.

Students will become oriented with organizing to address root causes of an issue.  Also, participants will become familiar with the service model project planning.

Students will be introduced to “isms” as systems of oppression that manifest themselves institutionally,interpersonally, and internally.  Worksophs address issues of negative stereotyping, racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, and homophobia.
